Vado a Bornstedt e arriverò in traghetto a Rostock. Ho intenzione di prendere il treno Rostock – Halle e poi Halle – Wolferode e percorrere gli ultimi 4 km a piedi. DB suggerisce un tempo di attesa di 1 ora+ ad Halle ma c’è la possibilità di cambiare treno in 4 minuti (se non c’è nulla in ritardo).
La mia domanda è: per il treno da Halle a Wolferode, devo acquistare il biglietto in anticipo o è come un treno regionale per il quale non è necessaria la prenotazione del posto? Se non ho bisogno di prenotare forse posso aspettare per comprare quel biglietto finché non arrivo quasi ad Halle?
Altrimenti se qualcuno ha altre opzioni intelligenti per arrivare facilmente a Bornstedt? Andrò al Dark Troll Festival e le prime band inizieranno intorno alle 13-14 di giovedì 29/5 e il mio traghetto dalla Svezia arriverà a Rostock alle 06:10 di giovedì mattina.

You are able to take a earlier train if regional service also. no need to book a separate ticket for that.
RE means Regional Express, so yeah it’s a regional train.
RE = Regional Train = no seat reservations
That is indeed a regional train on the second leg. There is never a seat reservation on those.
Also, as it is a regional train, there isn’t a train-binding, even if you have a (Super)sparpreis. Only the IC would have a binding if you have a discounted ticket.
So you have two options: Get one ticket for the whole trip. Hop on the first regional train in Halle which you can reach to Wolferode.
Or only get the ticket to Halle, then buy a separate ticket for the second bit on the navigator. (You technically could buy a ticket at a machine at the station too, but that won’t work with those 4 min interchange.) You usually can’t buy tickets on the train in Germany.

Yes, but you can get a cheaper rate if you book in advance.
No reason to wait an hour if you are in time.
The RE9 is an Regionalzug you dont Need Seat reservation for this train. You can buy the ticket 5mins before the train arrives no problem.
