may i ask a dumb question here , but why is that seen as an issue for some people , because it was common decades ago to be living at home at near 30

Its a great country. If only we could export the problem.

    3. As a 26 year old, this certainly tallies with my experience: over half, maybe 2/3. The rental crisis across the entire country is arguably the worst in the developed world. An astounding lack of availability of places, never mind the cost.

Spare a thought for us culchies who don’t have the option of living at home due to our jobs location 😔

    5. Is this 62% of 25 year olds live with parents or of those 25 year olds that do live with their parents 62% do so due to finances

I emigrated 3 times for a couple of years at a time to different countries. Came back each time and back again now, but no way in hell was I living with my parents.

We’re not ready for the fallout from this that’ll come in the next 10 years or so. I was in this position till earlier this year when I was lucky enough to get a job that paid way more than my old place. Living with your parents holds you back in so many ways, even if it is good for your finances.

The way things are this doesn’t even seem that mad. 25 has become essentially a college student in the eyes of society whereas 20 years ago you’d have been a fully fledged adult forever better and worde

Im between my sisters and parents house and I work full time. Just didn’t think I’d be in this situation at 28

“Ireland is the old sow that eats her farrow”…as true then, as it is now.

It sucks just a bit. I was out at 19 and I was already behind my mates who left earlier. They’re missing out on so much drinking, smoking and riding. It’s a scandal!

and I wonder what percentage are currently in temporary shared student accommodation who will have to move straight back in with parents at the end of the college year?

    14. Although this is mainly due to government, this also comes down to how lazy some people are, everyone knows by now a low paying job will not be able to house you anymore and you need to obtain skills to get you paid more and get into the housing market, yet few actually bother to obtain skills that will get them paid well enough to do so

So glad we have the government that tanked the economy last time in again with the biggest landlord in the dáil getting a special boy position so we can finally fix this issue
