It really has to be done, to ensure the cables aren’t damaged.

It is surprising that with all technology that we have today, radars, tracking, satellite pictures, navy and intel aircrafts some ship can still come to the specific location and damage the cables.
And just like that, Russia gets increased military presence of NATO right next to one of their most important ports, without achieving any significant objective with their cable cutting hissy fits. Another brilliant move by Putin.
