It has been incredibly short sighted for many EU countries to consistently sh*t on the strategic autonomy advocated by France for the past 70 years and here we are…
Hopefully at least the EU powers that matter will be able to prove that when the going gets tough european solidarity is more than empty words.
I don’t think any scandinavian country is going just sit idly by if Trump tries to go further with this example of fascist-style extortion. France seems like they won’t either. Not sure about the rest of Europe.
We’ve got your back, southern neighbours!
Our PM seemed to enjoy that dinner the other day, tack så mycket 😃
I really hope Denmark and the rest of EU stops seeing America as an ally. Up until now European nations have always called the US as their ”closest ally“.
Fuck the US. What kind of friend is that???
Russia and China must be laughing their asses off and enjoying how divided the West has gotten. Fuck you TRUMP and Musk!!

#Danish PM Seeks European Backing Over Trump’s Greenland Plans
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has called on European leaders for support against US President Donald Trump’s renewed interest in acquiring Greenland. During high-level meetings in Berlin, Paris, and Brussels, she warned of the potential risks of Trump’s ambitions for the strategically important Arctic island.
Speaking in Berlin alongside German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Frederiksen emphasised the need for European unity. Scholz underscored the importance of respecting borders and, in a pointed remark, added in English, “To whom it may concern.” After talks with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, she travelled to Brussels to meet NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte following a weekend Nordic summit where regional leaders expressed deep concern over the situation.
Trump has long expressed interest in Greenland, which is rich in untapped resources and occupies a key strategic location between Europe and North America. Over the weekend, he reaffirmed his belief that the United States would “get Greenland,” citing security reasons. European sources described his reported phone conversation with Frederiksen earlier this month as “horrendous,” with concerns growing that his interest could escalate into a more aggressive approach. The US president has also allegedly threatened Denmark with trade tariffs.
In response to the mounting pressure, Denmark has announced a major boost in Arctic security, committing $2 billion to reinforce its military presence in the region. This includes deploying three new frigates, long-distance drones, and improved satellite surveillance.
Meanwhile, European officials have begun discussing the possibility of stationing EU troops in Greenland alongside existing US military forces. While Denmark has not formally requested such a move, France’s foreign minister did not rule it out, suggesting it could be a matter of European security.
Greenland, which relies on Danish subsidies but has ambitions for greater independence, has made it clear that it does not wish to become American. Its Prime Minister, Mute Egede, stated that Greenlanders have no desire to change their status, though they remain open to economic partnerships with the United States.
The situation remains tense, with European leaders increasingly concerned about Trump’s intentions and the potential for further conflict over the Arctic territory.
I am sick to my stomach. The USA is compromised, and can’t be trusted as a friend to anyone. Trump is trying to legitimise exactly the same kind of naked imperial aggression that Putin is currently engaged in. I think it’s pretty evident who is pulling his strings.
Two ailing unstable egotists, and Europe is sandwiched right in the middle. We have to stand together because otherwise these pigs are going stick their snouts into whatever they feel like. The people of the UK stand with the rest of the continent and we can only pressure our government to grow a backbone and do the same thing.
I‘m living in Berlin, Germany, working for a US company. Should the US really start a military action against DK, I‘ll quit the job immediately.
Le Monde, do better with the sane-washing titles.
Danish have our support.
Groetjes, Nederland.
Bid!? It’s a fucking threat/demand!
Special military operation? Sound familiar from somewhere
And Portugal shall answer the call!
I hope.
The EU has no backbone and no future if they keep playing to America’s tune and don’t support Denmark now
From the weakling Scholz, dead man talking? 😆
