I wouldn’t get this. I haven’t watched TV since the pandemic.

There was one in the categories round where it said Trimble, Paisley, Robinson, Foster. The team members were all English.
Teammate 1: I think these are first ministers of Scotland.
Teammate 2: Are you sure?
Teammate 1: Well they’re first ministers of somewhere.
They got it wrong.

“Clodagh” was a clue in another question on the same episode and one of them goes, “maybe its counties” her two teammates look at her, she replies “I dunno, Clodagh, it sounds Irish!”

I loved seeing this. Once they were told one guy did know the answer.

Surely it should be Ian Wang, Dennis Wang and the young fella who they just call The Lad.

University Challenge was on after this and the Queens Belfast Team dominated, one of the first bonus questions was on Flags and all the team members seem to share a proper “Flegs” laugh.

I watched a bunch of Only Connect with my parents recently. There’s usually at least one question in an episode that’s simple for Irish people but head stumping for the Brit contestants.

Once she told them what the sequence was one of the other team got Kielty. Was fairly surprised by that

Fuckin hell, that’s extremely difficult for an English quiz show.
Even though I think the answer is blatantly obvious, there’s multiple _irish_ people in the comments here that haven’t a rashers

I’d have got it after Gay Byrne – and I’m as English as they are… Not watched *Only Connect* in ages – I don’t have a telly and it doesn’t seem to come up on iPlayer. Though I am ancient enough to remember when Gay Byrne’s version of the *Late Late Show* was shown in the UK.
