This is why you don’t ask the common people to take very important decisions that require a lot of studies, knowledge, and political connections to make an actually informed decision.
Instead, “**Being in EU means we give money away, and are also forced to accept Gypsies**”. This is what the common Brit understood from the premise.

Brits feel closer to Canada & America than they do to Europe
Case in point: Every British monarch always buys houses in Canada (PEI, Vancouver, etc.)

The UK isn’t ever going to return to the EU.
– The costs of rejoining are never going to be welcomed by the electorate
– No British party wants to relinquish their parliamentary agenda to years of EU debates, and so no one is campaigning to rejoin
– The EU has members who would block the UK’s readmission (namely France)
– The UK would have to adopt the Euro, a prospect welcomed by no one.
– The UK would have to scrap several trade deals, including with the 11 member CPTPP group; which again, no one wants.
Brexit has happened and there isn’t any way to reverse course.
And that’s why I chose to remain. You knew what the Pros and cons of staying in the EU was but you could only guess what the Pros and Cons of leaving it would be, we were still neighbours so it was quite clear that the UK and EU would still be trading afterwards but leaving a market and expecting to be treated the same was unrealistic.
Well if u leave the thing that has shit policies, and implement the same shit policies yourself then yea it made no sense to leave.
Honestly, I didn’t know much at the time, was leaning toward leave. Now 150% want back in. I didn’t vote btw.

Well. Immigration has increased. Very convenient for the wealthy to sell this as being harsh on immigration, and then give more visas than ever before thos people outside the EU.
They get to have the cake of pretending to be harsh on immigrants and eat it to .
The remain campaign lost rather than Brexit won.
The referendum was performed with the remain campaign based only on fear such as water treatment plants shutting down after 2 days due to lack of chemicals. I didn’t see a single article or speech based on anything that could be used to make any type of informed judgement.
The public preferred optimism, even if it was misplaced.

Who are the 11%?
An unmitigated disaster. A fully negative impact on the nation’s economy and personal freedoms.
Votes like this should include a quiz with 10 questions regarding the EU on the ballot, getting any of the 10 questions wrong would make the vote invalid
That’s very close to the actual vote number, It was 48% against and 52% for. So, even if we pretend their sample size for this survey was the entire country (which it obviously wasn’t), that’s only a 7% mind change group. And what is the margin of error on top of that? Sample size matters.
And what percentage of us Brits said this would be the outcome all along 🤦♂️

The UK isn’t rejoining the EU despite Britons or even EU people think. People here need to accept that fact. The UK would get a much worst deal than the one they had before, no political parties will waste their mandate and political capital on what would be a near-decade long accession, and it would have no immediate economic and political benefits.
55% say it was wrong but when you ask them what they plan to do about it, the answer is nothing “it’s a done deal”. The hubris of Brexit has not died yet even though Brexit is making all of them poorer.
