maybe the real frituur cultuur is the friends we made along the way.
Found back an order from 2017 and almost fell off my chair with how “cheap” the order was compared to the 2025 one. Looking for some feedback to see if it’s just a regional issue.
Especially “kippets” or chicken nuggets are just rediculously priced. ~€5 for 6 nuggets in Oostende. Around Gent it’s also ~€4,50 already.

Not only inflation, also energy costs.
Ordered a berenpoot in a frituur I had never been too 3 weeks ago and I paid 6,20€ for it … almost fell of the chair .

Matje, alles is te duur. Ik zag onlangs ergens “broodje kaas en ham: 5 euro”. Goeienoene. Doet e keer normaal.
Shoutout wel naar één slager in Brugge die broodje preparé doet aan 3.5 euro. Nog altijd duurder dan 12 jaar geleden, toen ik nog 15 jaar was. Toen was een broodje 2.5 euro ofzo?
Het enige dat geen inflatie heeft is wiet. Ik heb al een anderhalf jaar niet meer wiet gerookt maar ik garandeer je dat is nog altijd 10 euro de gram bij de meeste.

Om de hoek hadden we een goede frituur zitten, 2 friet en 2 kaaskroketten. Kon ik met 10 euro af en fooi geven. Helaas zijn ze met pensioen sinds vorig jaar.
So too expensive frituren…we must riot

Da was ne friet (klein of medium zelfs, dno) curryworst en stoofvleessaus voor net geen 5 euro.
En dan vaak wast “moet der mayo op?”

Herinner mij vroeger (2000-2005 – miljaar ik wer aad 😁) meestal rond de 15 voor ons twee 🙈
I was recently in Belgium for the last 2.5 weeks of December, staying at my parents and to work remotely for my job in Berlin. It was good to enjoy the delicious things we have in our lovely little country compared to the bland things offered in Germany. However, it was jaw-dropping to see the bill of the last frituur visit I did. I used to pay below 15 euro for a medium pack of fries with at least a couple of sauces on it, bicky cheese, 3 extra snacks (My combo was always vleeskroket, kaaskroket and grizzly or boulette) and maybe a coke if I wanted to.
And goingto a snackbar and asking for a big kapsalon alone costed 9.5 euros in my hometown. The prices have seriously blown up. Oh, gone are the times, when I was able to pay 5-6 euros for a big kapsalon + a drink

I now buy fritur meat from a fritur supplier, still expensive but less than going to the fritur.
An order for 2 was about 18€ (2 medium + 4 meat, no sauce, no drinks). The fries are really good there but eh.
Scrolled the replies and nobody mentioned how societies are moving away from unhealthy, deep-fried foods. Perhaps it’s a good thing that the frituur culture is on its way out?
