

Mia moglie l’ha ricevuto ieri nella cassetta della posta. Non ha acquistato o sottoscritto alcun biglietto DE 49€, ma deve comunque pagare, e anche con una causa legale. Ero senza parole e confuso. È una truffa? Cosa sta succedendo con DB? Ho già inviato loro alcune mail e ora devo aspettare ma è fine settimana.

Call DB and ask.
Did you have a Bahncard and did not cancel it?
Ask for detailed information of the claim. They have to inform you.
Might well be that someone got themselves a BahnCard in your name…
According to their website the IBAN does not match „Unsere Bankverbindung hat sich geändert:
Kontoinhaber: UNIVERSUM Inkasso GmbH
IBAN: DE49 5004 0000 0583 4726 00
BIC: COBADEFFXXX“ even though it’s the same bank. I also miss information about the original claim and information about how the total amount is calculated.
Call Universum and ask for verification and all details about the Deutsche Bahn claim and then call Deutsche Bahn and ask them what this is all about.
Call the phone number and find out about Abo-Nummer mentioned on the second page. Universum might point you to the DB-Aboservice, which might be painfull to reach and communicate with, but you do not have another option (maybe hiring and paying for a lawyer would be an alternative, but you might not be too eager to spend money on that). There are plenty of traps in the public transit space making you ending up in a subscription without noticing it.
Once you’re 100% sure, you weren’t involved, you should reach out to the police and file a case on identity theft (and maybe fraud) and communicate that to Universum. This will not resolve the issue for you immediately (it’ll be slow and painful as well) but that’s the best option you have.
