Might be looking at one much earlier. You’ve got THE biggest sporting event in the world just next year.
Fixed what? The Olympics used to be literally handed out to totalitarian regimes and cheered on by Americans in their pubs with joy. And because you just had elections and your party didnt win we should now suddenly not watch or what is the reason? The world does not revolve around you honeypie 🙂
There’s no “fixing it”. The U.S. institutions effectively no longer exist. Elon controlling the federal government money transfers without authorization from the Congress. He is literally downloading US federal government data. Future elections will be for show, like in Russia.
To be fair, the world boycotting would give Trump the most gold medals 🏅 ever
Football World Cup 2026??
From what I’ve read today in r/politics, I doubt USA will exist to celebrate its 250 years of indepence in 2056, and possibly not even the next upcoming fourth of July Independence Day. Although the signals coming *out* of USA are infuriating, what is going on right now inside is actually a bit scary. I have watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RpPTRcz1no twice, although it is nearly unbearable, and I think we in Europe perhaps should look elsewhere for threats from USA. With Musks interference with Germany and AfD in mind, we need to take a good look at all groups associated with or sponsored by US technoligarchs, just as much as we probably already to with regard to Russian oligarchs. Our democracies are perhaps not under immediate threat, but things seem to be evolving very quickly.
I guess the only hope is for everything somehow to be intact until the congress election of 2026, and then that the democrats gets a 2/3 majority, so that they actually can impeach Trump, before everything is lost.
Putin, Xi, Trump and Musk will all be at the opening ceremony together by 2028.
All those facing tariffs should boycott the Olympics, shut er down and let the Americans loose a shit ton of money.
