Fortunately it means little at this this stage or with our system (it needs reform, not Reform) but it’s going to be a long 4 years hearing from this walloper nonetheless.

Can’t believe they want to put the big chungus guy in charge

    3. MalatestasPastryCart on

I was gonna ask “so a majority of brits haven’t learned anything from brexit?!” But we live in the absolute goofiest timeline so ofcourse they haven’t.

    4. FudgeMonkey74 on

If it’s unbelievable, it’s probably election interference

    5. Visible_Bat2176 on

nobody cares until 2029 and even then, past the post system could deliver a total different result. the real reasons these “polls” are made in high numbers now are because there is a “brexit malaise” in the UK and some right wingers billionaires do not like the current proEU approach, so they keep delivering these nonstop polls to screw a more balances proEU approach:))

    6. yeah i gave up with the EU and politics. Nothing is being done with election interference and it seems most people are just dumb as rocks. Dark times ahead

    7. gemmocdg on

I honestly don’t understand this primordial craving that the UK has of being repeatedly fucked in the arse.

    8. chrisni66 on

Yes this is worrying, and it’s one of the reasons I don’t think we should be talking about ‘rejoining’ the EU at this point (although I would like to see it happen sooner or later). We need to tackle the rise of the right first, and this means a focus on improving the cost of living, and dealing with the perceived immigration problems that the far right feed on. If Labour can solve those, then we should be ok…

Also, polls like this don’t really tell the whole picture in UK politics. Reform had 19% of the vote in the General Election, but only picked up 3 seats because of how spread out their support is. So while this looks bad, if the same trend is true this would potentially translate into fewer than 100 seats, and would not net them the government.

What’s happening in the UK. One day you learn that they regret Brexit and the day after the leading politician is Farage?

      What’s the logic!?

I guess it’s about a more polar society where Farage supporters and brexiters are a big minority enough to lead, whereas tories, libdems and labours are all against brexit

Interesting the story of tories. What’s up with Boris Johnson?

    10. yellowbai on

Letting 1 million people into a country in 1 year tends to be a bit controversial

    11. People need to chill. The next election is over 4 years away, and I’m willing to bet Farage won’t be PM afterwards.

    12. Jamintoo on

The media is helping all these alt-right parties by constantly making articles and headlines about them. If they stopped reporting so much on them and stopped inviting them to question time type events they wouldn’t have such a scarily rapid rise in the publics psyche!

    13. rantheman76 on

And we all though Brexit was the lowest point in the UK…

    14. SuccinctEarth07 on

Was a poll of 2400 people.

I still think those people are crazy but that’s still a very small poll

    15. cronenthal on

Oh please, do it! It’s going to be a disaster epic enough to rival brexit!

    16. This is what happens when the two main parties mismanage the country for decades.

    17. Anywhere_everywhere7 on

They won’t win the election but they’re going to steal a lot of labour votes in the next election. A lot of working class labour votes would rather vote reform than the tories if the current government doesn’t improve their areas.

    18. Other countries with proportional representation are most often forced to make a coalition government which makes it much more difficult to make dramatic changes. That is both good and bad.

    19. discographyA on

Imagine looking at America right now in a potentially relatively rapid collapse and thinking to yourself “Yes, I’d like that extra bit of instability in my life right now”.

    20. morbihann on

Because he has done such a splendid job at his previous parties so far.

    21. We have to face that our Western societies are broken and that much of the working class and parts of the middle class are completely alienated by the way our political and political systems are working. The fear and anger is then very easily channeled by demagogues.

It doesn’t help calling people who vote for Farage, Le Pen, AfD… idiots. They are, but they are also angry and frightened for legitimate reasons. We have to stop making politics that in the end only favour the rich and parts of an academic upper middle-class. Otherwise we will end up like the US where politics will only favour the Billionaires and they start directly ruling us.

    22. Baba_NO_Riley on

So.. Which country would be 2030’s Britain? Where shall I find 2030’s Winston Churchill?

    23. AdSpare9099 on

Seeing Farage leading the polles makes me think how bad the other parties must be for this to happen?

    24. Lollipop96 on

The guy that convinced them to do Brexit which turned out the be all lies? Thats who they are voting for?

    25. Deadandlivin on

      This is a problem.
Expect to see Trumpism in Europe soon.

    26. ShrimpleyPibblze on

A poll by a sitting Tory MP’s company on behalf of The Times, an extraordinarily Tory paper.

In other news, “poll among racists returns positive for own kind, negative for all else”.

It’s almost as if control of the flow of information gives you a political advantage? Who knew.

Obviously what we need is more explicitly right wing media to tell us what to think.

    27. andrijas on

So according to the last few posts – majority UKers want to go back to EU, but also Farange leads in polls.

    28. JanMarsalek on

This is the guy that bought them Brexit. People really are so incredibly stupid.

    29. dannyencasa on

Typical fuck up shit hole this island is….
I live in a country full of brain dead Brits, suffering a lack of memory. I am surrounded by useless Brits who happily suck on Farage’s cocks and balls, hoping for a miracle cure for the UK, after months and years of salivating over the arses of the rancid fucked up labour and tories c@@ts. Yep UK/Brits are cloning themselves into the most famous group of c@@ts ‘Americans’. Just like a fly that is always attracted excrement…..

    30. Dependent_Savings303 on

      polls: we want right wing

also polls: we want to rejoin europe

      what now?

    31. The dude who brought the Brexit which was a disaster now leads the poll…wow

    32. whooo_me on

From the people who brought you Brexit…. their next big hit: The Man who Brown Noses Trump.

Thank God politics here are boring, and we don’t (yet!) have that kind of populism here.

    33. CrypticNebular on

If there’s one thing that the last decade has shown it’s that humans are far more stupid than we realised. All it takes is a bit of social media razzmatazz and they’ll happily vote for anything —literally anything!

And with the British utterly bonkers totally non proportional electoral system, 25% could be an absolute majority by a huge landslide, depending on the particular configuration of constituencies.

Several major countries just look like they’re now lost forever to the chaos social media and won’t ever reform their electoral systems.

Musk will back this, everyone will hand wring and do nothing about it, and in a few years the UK will just a subsidiary of X.
