Spin doctors , ask their bosses for more bullshit to spin , shoes you who really running the show , developers are colluding to limit supply to they can maintain prices , they learnt in 2008 that just building as much as you the government will just leave you holding the bag when things go tits up

What the fuck can our government even do? Useless humans

In other words “gives us more free land, do away with planning and any sort of regulations so we can get more money” Guess this is what happens when the same greedy parties are repeatedly voted in.

There should be a whole section of government building houses. They could cut out the middle man and undercut the developers. Asking developers to build loads of houses will bring the asking prices down which they don’t want so why would they.

Oh yeah call take that will end up doing nothing to solve the problem.

Its a manufacturer bottleneck- FF/FG don’t have to keep any promises because the country believed the bull and elected landlords to fix the housing crisis – its basic logic and it’s what they have done for decades. Now trying to subvert Irish democracy with the technical group scandal luckily the CC denied their attemp to limit opposition speaking time.

I’ve literally had enough of these traitors.

Closing the door after horse has bolted,

This should have happened six months ago,not using county managers to lean on junior planners to lie on figures around housing

We are genuinely ruled by fucking idiots

What do they think the developers are going to say? “give us money, make it cheaper for us, lower taxes, remove regulations and streamline planning.” Which they’re already doing. Why would builders take more risk when they can make more money for less work. The status quo is fantastic for them

At some point FFG will realize that they have to solve the problem. Both on the supply and demand sides. Reducing the number of visas, migrants and refugees. And then either creating a building agency or bringing in the resources from the UK, France, Spain, South Africa, etc.

The last time this happened the Strategic Housing Developments (SHD) process was invented by the construction industry, and that worked out well… right?

      Right?

Developers: is there anything to be said for cheaper standards but more expensive to purchase houses?

It fairness though it’s not that easy to build so many houses in a short space of time. Big infastructure projects like this take years.
