It seems Ukraine is still using armoured vehicles at very close range like this, either trusting suppressive fire to be effective or hoping (maybe knowing, from drone footage?) that the enemy has no anti tank weapons such as RPGs. That’s far inside of RPG engagement range, and these vehicles aren’t really meant for an offensive role like that.
This seems to be a quite well coordinated action though, quick in and quick out with suppressive fire delivered the whole time and with good coordination between the fire team and the demolitions team. Being fast enough means the machinegunner doesn’t run out and have to stop firing to reload with a new belt of ammo at the wrong time. Well done, making do with what they have available!
