How come “we” do this, is it just out of spite?

It seems to me it’s better to just keep buying the stuff we want from the US without imposing tariffs.

Trump isn’t going to suffer, but the general public is. Tariffs just make everything more expensive.

      ELI5 why retaliation-tariffs are a smart move?

    3. >A truce on a 2018 trade dispute on steel and aluminum between Brussels and Washington is set to lapse at the end of March. The European Commission on Monday pledged to react to U.S. President Donald Trump’s threatened imposition of 25 percent tariffs on steel and aluminum, slamming them as “unlawful”

The tariff war is stupid, but I mean, so is this claim. Literally nothing about it is unlawful, the prior deal is about to expire.

    4. That’s the only thing we do, reacting to people with strategies. I guess it’s gonna be another round of barking at their ankles in Twitter

Will they upload their reaction to youtube?

Trump does WHAAAT?! EU reacts to “Trumps unlawful tariffs” *sponsored by RAID SHADOW LEGENDS*

    6. Our answer to Trumps tarifs should be focused on the big tech defence sector, it is their main weapon of influence and interference.

Plus we could use the breathing room to improve our own tech sector.

man i really hope this rotting bag of oranges’ idiotic political circus isnt going to affect my migration to the EU

    8. Trump mentioned yesterday that the EU’s VAT charges (etc) on US goods being bought by Europeans is in effect a kind of tariff.

Would love to be able to buy electronics from the USA without being bent over and having my pants pulled down by customs.

    9. EU should target the US services sector, that’s the current backbone of the US economy.

    10. Please PLEASE set a 50% on any tech service coming from Silicon Valley, Seattle, Texas and Florida.
