Three years suspended last year, such a lenient sentence.

How is that a sentence? It’s an actual joke. That child’s life is priceless and was worth far far more than 3 years suspended.

What sentence is justified in this case? If that was my son that was killed, then it wouldn’t matter if he got 20 years or 2 years. The devastation or anger is not going to go away. If I was the driver, I’d prefer to have been killed myself, than to have killed a child. Not sure what the distraction was here, but I’ve been guilty of looking at my phone while driving, and we all know that there is a huge issue with phones and driving. I see it all the time in the road. Hopefully this case makes us think again if it’s really that important to check that message.

I was driving through Carrigaline only yesterday and a large jeep-type vehicle sailed past the lane next to me, fully breaking the red light.

Not a single thing has been learnt.

Having to live with that on my conscience would be much worse than a few years in jail.

Fucking idiot… he should have shot up a house of someone he didn’t like first then he would have gotten nothing…
