Vox in Spain already governs in municipalities and in some regions, also in collaboration with the PP (belonging to the PPE group). The word is, continuity, from old policies already known to everyone, neoliberalism (not to be confused with American linearism).
They have not fixed the housing problem in their regions and cities, they have not regulated anything in terms of labor and they have not recognized that in the main region that they govern, illegal immigration is promoted by precisely the agricultural exploiters who support them.
So, their propaganda is hypocritical and demogogue as it always has been in the last 40 years. His rhetoric is reactionary as reactionary movements against liberal policies have always been in the last ∼150 years or more (In Spain, reactionary blows have been suffered against liberal policies since the fall of the absolute monarchy).
They have never provided anything new and have not provided any solution. Their best asset is that the social democrats are in the same situation.
And also (and much funnier and ironic, as an example of the hypocrisy of these assholes), they are in the same Eurogroup with Salvini’s party, which supported the Catalan independentists for years and campaigned for the sigma, the Belgian party ‘Vlaams Belang’ that helped Puigdemont… etc etc.
Furthermore, within the VOX party there have been significant departures of politicians in the last 2 years.
ps: In Spain is one thing, I don’t know if it will differ from other European ones, the extreme right in Spain is eminently anti-Anglo-Saxon (especially in the ultra-Catholic nationalists, it also exists in the extreme left, it is ‘very funny’ sometimes to see them agree at the same points), and they have many ‘influencers’ actively campaigning to feed that narrative. And they do not forgive the fact that the United States supports the Moroccan dictatorship. So, if Trump feeds the Moroccan regime (weapons, etc.) he can lose them in less time than it takes to blink.
Looking at Trump, we need the opposite.

The only thing the left needs to do to win elections is be strict on immigration, multiculturalism and take the problems of young white men serious. That’s it. But they’ve got their heads stuck up their ass far too deep.
I love how Europe’s far right isn’t even about nationalism, it’s about taking over the country and being subjugated to russia.

Once feared military and now can’t even take over ukraine, the feared black sea fleet pretty much defunct, kursk partly taken, and they’re transporting their soldiers in donkeys and camels. I can go on forever.

europe does need to be stricter in immigration though and housing. it’s what drives people to far right politics anywhere in the Western world. US, Canada, Europe
To balance them we need a new wave of populist left – anti-rich, anti-oligarch, anti-woke, pro-working class

If Europe hasn’t yet learned from places like Hungary and Russia, learn from the US. If necessary, set aside the law to prevent these people gaining power, because once they have it the law will mean nothing.
I’m convinced that very few people actually like the far right. What they like is the fact that they promise to actually do something and then follow through, and they focus on the living standards of the nation that they actually represent, rather than some vague notion of the global good.
If the centre could just take people’s views on mass migration seriously and actually act strongly to stop it they would kill 90% of support for the far right.

Reqonquering Europe means ethically cleansing Europe for them and their supporters, nothing else. Attempts to do do that won’t remain peaceful
Instead of looking at the far right, maybe look at their voting base? Young men all over the Western world are breaking for the far right…hard. Gen Z and Gen Alpha are probably the first generations that are more conservative than the preceding generations. These young men are breaking for the far right for a wide variety of reasons. If we don’t want a far right takeover, then we should be addressing their grievances.
Except they won’t.
