Everybody knew Russia was playing the long game, and still the real assistance never came. Even now, European leaders can step up and help Ukraine in place of the US, but they won’t.

Otherwise, they will use the threat of nuclear war to start wars of aggression, while other countries, with or without nuclear weapons, will not step in over those same fears as well as the financial concerns. Honestly. Aside from withholding military aid, I’m not sure Trump has that much to say about what happens in Ukraine. The unintended consequences here will likely include the EU stepping up in ways it has failed to do so thus far. And frankly, Russia is stumbling around in a political quagmire of military failures and death.

I think it’s about time for Ukraine to start adding a little glow to its national defense strategy. Maybe a few centrifuges spinning in a basement somewhere—strictly for **peaceful** purposes, of course.
