As much as I like Mr. Pistorius….for me, his statement is good….but what if Germany and all other European Allies would have taken care to supply/support Ukraine as much as needed ‘stand alone’ w/o the US?
Now, with the orange guy in charge, Putler is guiding this process…and…surprise, surprise, he does NOT wants to see Ukraine and/or Europe sitting at the ‘negotiation’ table. In this case I would not even call it negotiation, it is DICTATION. But again….we/Europe we have/had it in our hand to drive that process. As a co-driver you don`t have to complain…you have to shut up and let yourself be driven.

I feel like Germany kind of owes it to the world to take the lead on this one and put boots on the ground first.

Good, now the other European countries should do the same. The way Trumpistan goes about this Ukraine “deal” may well break NATO, but we can’t let them give russia absolute victory. It will be the starting shot for more dictatorship aggression. Ukraine and Europe will have to fight this and not concede.
I’d never thought the US would be this callous. The may just as well join BRICS if this is going to be their level of commitment to their “allies” going forward. /s
