Trumps capitulation is exactly what any sane non-maga person expected.

The cult will probably think they won and “ended the war”.

America desperately needs a total reform in education.

Well.. USA capitulation is just a pretext to USA annexing something themselves in the near future..

Europe capitulated having any say in the outcome of this war when it decided developing a military industrial complex and developing energy independence wasn’t important. Europe should be in the driver seat of these negotiations, not Trump. But Europe is weak, and therefore, doesn’t get a say.

It’s only terrible deal making if the goal was to help America/Europe/Democracy.

Since Trump only cares about himself, it’s the chance to make the deal of a lifetime.

Is anyone under the impression that Trump is good at making deals?

Trump is a genius. All the West had to do was capitulate. Who other than this stable genius could have figured this out.

just wondering, would withdrawing from all the F35 contracts be an appropriate response?

A heavily armed Europe that doesn’t care about tariffs because it’s just trying not get invaded, that won’t buy American weapons because it was betrayed, that will shut down all American soft power/influence/espionage social media and other software companies, essential parts of America’s full spectrum dominance, that will stop prioritizing human rights, because they don’t have that luxury any longer, so China can replace the US as market, and the restrictions to Mexico and LatAm trade gone. That will buy oil from Canada, so there’s another economic block out of the petrodollar system, feeding the endless American borrowing machine. A Europe in sum weakened economically but strengthened in resolved and no longer being influenced by or buying from the US. Specially if Trump goes after Greenland, which looks like it’s part of the deal with Russia, a new Molotov-Ribbentrop pact in the making.

I really fail to see the net gain for the US. All I see is isolation, brain drain (who wants to do research in a quasi theocracy that resents and does not finance scientists), high inflation, likely default on US debt (a move no one is talking about but which fits Trump like a glove) and without the dollar as reserve currency, hyper inflation and irrelevance.

“Terrible deal making” is assuming his interests align with that of the nation he is actively destroying.

He is making deals for himself alone.

Trump is interested in bolstering his ego by looking like the big dealmaker. Never mind who he sells out, trashes or fucks over. Look at the whole Afghanistan fiasco he engineered for the accolades but the moment it crashed and burned it was someone else’s fault.
