      This is such an egregious distortion of the facts it isn’t even funny. Nobody was talking about Ukraine joining NATO until Russia launched its genocidal war whose basis had nothing to do with NATO whatsoever. It was rooted in psychotic Russian ultranationalism that can in no way, shape or form, countenance a Ukrainian state that’s free and democratic. He conveniently leaves out the fact that Putin wrote an essay in the leadup to his actions against Ukraine that can be described as his own ‘Mein Kampf.’ Ukraine’s NATO aspirations came about so that they could have security guarantees from further Russian aggression. Any notion otherwise is Kremlin propaganda acting as a smokescreen for their real intentions which is the extermination of Ukrainian statehood. Trump and his minions can all go fuck themselves.
