Kick them out. We don’t need the Americans to defend 500 million Europeans from 150 million Russians. It’s absurd.

      Integrate Europe and smash Moscow.

    2. DarthSet on

Feel free to pack your bags, and lose logistical capability.

I like it how they frame that its them doing us a favor when in reality its the opposite.

    3. Okkuuurrrr on

Fuck it. They are getting way too arrogant. Start the talks on European states integrating again, boost the military spending and fuck the states. Let em sit on their continent and make trades with Russia who’s buying power is laughable at best.

    4. Carolingian_Hammer on

If we had a European Army we wouldn’t need to play these games and worry about being blackmailed. In this case allowing US troops to use our soil would become leverage instead of dependence.

    5. Thunderbird_Anthares on

and buying american weapons is not forever either

if its a divorce, lets do it RIGHT, with all the bells and whistles and both parties taking all their stuff

    6. EmployerEfficient141 on

Putin told him to say this. He loves US out of EU.

    7. RoadandHardtail on

We need to keep Americans here as long as possible. Their presence alone is buying us time to arm and keeping Putin from overstepping.

      Don’t let emotion fool you.

    8. almaguisante on

Good riddance, we’ve wanted them out from Spain since they came. “Fuera bases americanas de Rota y de Moron”
We already had Palomares, we don’t need another fuckup from them.

    9. ClubSundown on

If us troops leave then let them. No one in Europe is forcing them to stay. Right wing American politicians aren’t welcome in Europe, make that forever too.

    10. Eastern-Bro9173 on

Isn’t Europe paying for them? Sounds like a good way to find some money for extra defense investments by stopping to pay American soldiers for being here.

    11. Agreeable_Theme_8025 on

Fine, get the f out, you are already unreliable and everyone understood that the moment Russian troops cross any border, US will just stand by or leave. It’s meaningless to have your bases here from now on.

Europe will part ways with US. US will self-isolate and have tariff wars with all major markets. What follows?

What will happen to Wall Street and other stock exchanges, if let’s say Euro will become a more prominent worldwide reserve currency? What will happen to all stock bubbles, all the trillions of $$$ of valuations for companies with imaginary value that never made any profit like ALL the AI, Tesla and hundreds more, and all your shitcoin and other meme stocks?

Also volatile government regimes make a bad environment for investment, and EU is already world leader in attracting investment, ahead of US as it was before 2025. Do you really want to build a new fancy tech company in the current US climate when government ignores laws and constitution, punishes anyone it wants however it wants? Or will they go somewhere more stable and predictable, like Europe?

I think while all this mess is bad for everyone short-term, long-term Europe will be better off than US.

    12. Dry_Mud_5800 on

US troops needed to keep order on the Palestine Riviera

    13. Unlikely-Studio-278 on

Please yes, leave already, we’re tired of being your colony.

    14. Why do we have US troops in Europe? Their president is clear that Russia is a friendly misunderstood ally, so why do they want troops here?

Fuck off USA, stop trying to leverage your troops and keep us hostage to your insane bullshit.

    15. SnooPies5378 on

I don’t like our secretary of defense, he passed confirmation by one vote, but regardless of who says it, it happens to be true.

Europe needs to spend more on their defense and stop relying on us. Because we’re always one election away from having people like Trump and Hegseth who don’t understand how the world works.

    16. Due_Guess3697 on

If the USA wants to reduce the influence it has over the world, who are we to stop this?

    17. Dry_Necessary7765 on

Can they fuck off already instead of constantly whining about how much we’ll miss them? Feels like Brexit all over again.

    18. DumbledoresShampoo on

He absolutely has a point. Europe needs to pay its own bill. That’s common sense. We must invest 3,5-5%/gdp for a long time and integrate our forces, ASAP.

    19. TrickyPollution5421 on

      Bring them home!

Let the Europeans pay for and defend their own crap!

    20. Who is this warning for?

That sounds like great news for EU.

    21. RiccWasTaken on

A lot of dreading articles are dominating the news already, but where people see dread I see opportunity. It’s time Europe start moving FAST. The EU budget needs to be increased drastically. I read that it was average 1€ per EU citizen, which is ridiculously low. We can easily increase the budget tenfold. Then start spending and developing hard. More military production and R&D (defence spending), better transport infrastructure, more spending for food and agricultural development, more spending for (higher) education development, equal footing within the EU on better and equal standards of living.

It’s time Europe will de-americanize. First Trump term we thought it was a fluke, now we know it’s a trend.

    22. Why is the US suddenly acting like they never wanted their troops stuffed in every nook and cranny across the globe? Your little bases aren’t the only deterrent on the continent. Fuck off if you don’t want to be here.

    23. craigmorris78 on

America let a lot of people down who worked for them In Afghanistan. Does the EU want such an unreliable and selfish partner? Maybe Europe needs to find countries we can rely on better long term.

    24. UniquePariah on

I’m fairly confident that all those US bases throughout Europe are for Americas benefit. In a great many cases, some have wanted them gone for years.

    25. FoundationNegative56 on

This is the same policy that the Biden administration was working towards before Russia invaded Ukraine

    26. No__Weird on

95% of this article is about how great the relationship between the US and Poland is and how other European countries should follow their example in ramping up defense spending. Clickbait headline.

    27. kissthesky303 on

lol, they will never give up their bases and it’s power projection in Europe just like that. We need to kick them out actively.

    28. 0Tezorus0 on

Didn’t he also say that the USA would send troops if Putin didn’t commit to reach a peace treaty?

    29. hadubrandhildebrands on

I hope America abandons its vassals in Europe soon.

    30. ManatuBear on

I guess airbases for US military in Europe are not forever either.

    31. VinnieStacks on

He’s as dumb as he looks. American troops aren’t in Europe to defend Europe. They’re there to defend American interest so yes, they will be there forever

    32. Miserable_Movie_4358 on

Glad to hear. I thought it was them who wanted to stay forever

    33. diegorock99 on

Sure, we play the uni reverse card and close their bases in European soil

    34. kittenschism on

They are destroying the government on purpose. They will kneecap their own ability to respond to any crisis in the world, because they do not care if (or they want to? for) China or Russia end up on top. Military bases everywhere is their biggest strength, they a logistics powerhouse.

Everyone should watch the Dark Gotic MAGA: How Tech Billionaires Plan to Destroy America by Blonde Politics.

    35. Satrustegui on

      Goodbye!

All these bases in Europe should be occupied by the European army and we should buy European weaponry instead.

    36. Frankly, having US troops in Europe is a big risk now and does not represent real protection. They should be told to leave ASAP.

    37. AirportCreep on

Such an anti-American sentiment here. Putin is frothing at the sight of it. Western Europe needs to shut up and build military capability to help eastern Europe before we even should talk about showing the Americans the door. Right now I see people from Germany, Spain and the Netherlands complaining about the Yanks. That’s easy being surrounded by friends. These same people will probably cower at the thought of re-established conscription and increased defence spending.
