I’m concerned with how bored Rubio looks in all the photos of this meeting. As if he’s thinking “this is a waste of time, things have already been decided for you”. I hope I’m wrong and it’s just jet lag.
Why is Europe not stepping up to provide security guarantees? Is Europe really that scared and weak now?

Vance is out of his depth and trying to neg that it’s our fault that Russia is impossible to negotiate with because he has no idea how to do his job. Not that he’s unique in this way. Everybody around him in MAGA land are out of their depth in a blow up paddling pool. Without supervision they are guaranteed to drown. But they’re not even self aware enough to ask for help.

American guarantees are worthless. USA already have given guarantees. And pretends it didn’t happen.
Europe probably feels unable to, as that was USAs job. It’s been three years, how long does it take to get some quantities here?
So that’s the problem. We need to dump USA.
Security guarantee is a hell of an expensive ask. That places a huge obligation on the guarantor.
The US can actually give you one – and will – but there will be a price.
Seems like there is a deal to be had here…US puts a base inside Ukraine and friendly terms for their miners…Ukraine gets a few decades of stability.
The alternative is taking a chance on Europe’s support…
