Continuiamo a essere detto, di nuovo i tempi e i tempi, che le nostre pensioni sono insostenibili, dobbiamo tutti lavorare più a lungo. Sì, il rapporto tra pensionato/lavoratore è in aumento e continuerà ad aumentare per molto tempo. Ma perché un tale fondo non è possibile?
Sì, sono consapevole che la Norvegia può utilizzare i fondi petroliferi per finanziare il piano pensionistico. Ma non è impossibile finanziarlo attraverso altri mezzi (come attraverso le tasse) e le dichiarazioni dei piani sono indipendenti dai prezzi del petrolio e batte facilmente la crescita, quindi crescerà molto più velocemente della base imponibile utilizzata per finanziarla. Non sono assolutamente un esperto di finanza, quindi qualcuno può dirmi perché questo è irrealizzabile, oltre al pianto ideologico dicendo che lo stato non dovrebbe mai investire in nulla (di solito le stesse persone che vendono tutti i nostri beni statali a società private, quindi lamentarsi del nostro I servizi sociali non funzionano per privatizzare ancora di più, quindi dicendoci che dobbiamo ritardare l’età della pensione)

The Norwegians have petrol. This is why they were able to create this fund.
A sovereign wealth fund is funded with government surplus.
Find me a government surplus
Basically you need to fund it from surpluses. This is pretty easy when you have oil. Belgium hasn’t run a surplus in decades.
So that leaves you with funding it from broad cuts to welfare or from higher taxes. I think if you had low debts like Germany or Holland you could conceivably do a refinance at times of 1% interest rates and raise your debt from 50% of GDP to 80% for a pension fund but we’re already at 108% and rising quickly.
It just won’t happen and when it happens the state will chronically mismanage it like they’ve done with Proximus/Bpost, Dexia and just about everything under the sun.
Starting such a fund when times are good and letting it grow for multiple decades without touching the capital in the fund requires multiple generations of politicians who do the right thing for the population today as well as our children and children’s children. Just like saving and investing privately it requires a government that spends less than it makes. We haven’t seen that in a very long time.
Het [Zilverfonds/Fonds de Vieillissement](https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zilverfonds) was a very feeble attempt at setting up the equivalent for Belgium in the early 2000s but it never bought proper investment assets nor was it ever sufficiently funded to actually have any chance of succes and it has since been killed off.
