why are Italy and France so low on the Opinion of Ukraine list?

    2. TungstenPaladin on

The Ukraine question seems kinda silly. Ukraine is physically located in Europe so of course it’s a part of Europe. The question should be more of “Do you think that Ukraine belongs in the EU?”

    3. Opposite-Nothing-752 on

the last constant in the world. the slight, sometimes stronger, antipathy of the Germans towards the Americans.

    4. notveryamused_ on

Okay, the answers to the last question confused the hell out of me: how can Ukraine be considered not part of Europe lol? 1/5 of Poles are saying that? I don’t think they mean that Ukraine is in Africa…, but if those idiots mean that Ukraine culturally belongs to Asia, then well, this would actually make us Eastern Europe xD

But to be serious, well, Ukrainian people suffered a lot in 2014, when they fought to be closer to Europe despite their traitorous president back then. I mean, even in 2004 already Poland was one of the main supporters of the Orange Revolution, when they tried to align their country with more European values. Those are well-known things here…

Nov-Dec 2024, almost not worth using, as it’s pre Trump

Not as bad as I feared, but what the heck, Bulgaria?

    7. kind4qui3t on

Worthless poll at this point. We’re not living in the same world we were 3 months ago.

If only an American would chime in to tell me they didn’t vote for him and I’d change my mind on entire country. /s

    9. EnergyOwn6800 on

Quite a large amount of people that don’t see Ukraine as part of Europe. Explains why they do nothing and rely on America to solve their problems.

30% of Danes saying USA is an ally that shares our interests and values. Just two years ago that number was 54%

    11. mordordoorodor on

This was before Elon did the nazi salute and before Trump threatened to invade 2 NATO countries and started trade wars. The numbers are much much worse now regarding the USA.

Personally, I think China is a Rival a 100%. Obviously they aren’t militarily as hungry as Russia. But the giant panda is waking up and is getting hungry for some bamboo. They are in direct conflict with our democratic values that we must protect, having them gain too much power, effectively becoming the police of the world like the US does/did would, to me, have horrible consequences

57% of Bulgaria see Russia as an ally or necessary partner.. are you fucking kidding me?

    14. Glittering-Gene7215 on

Bulgaria on the second screen in relation to russia was definitely surprising. Hungary was expected, but Bulgaria… I don’t even know what to say.

I checked 2nd picture and thought “Danish people are incredibly based”, and then checked last one… Insane, i don’t even understand why Danish people amongst all of EU(Which is also pro-Ukraine) so pro-Ukraine.

    16. Glittering-Gene7215 on

Well, purely geographically, the center of Europe is in Ukraine, so I don’t even know what the question is about. And I’m more surprised that no other country, except Ukraine, has at least 80% thinking this way. Even a small part of russia is in Europe, so when it comes to Ukraine…

    17. hmtk1976 on

So what is this ECFR that casually ignores so many European countries in its numbers?

    18. Sudden-Conclusion931 on

I find the naivety about China frightening and the lack of support for Ukraine as a part of Europe sad.

    19. canadawillneverbe51 on

I expect denmark to change with the bill to take greenland in congress as we speak.

    20. Professional-Big5886 on

Some numbers a sad, frustrated…China is a friend, russia (strategically partner that straight saying that they should control half of Europe like it was when ussr was)? wtf. Percentage of idk is scarry too. That’s why Europe is there where it is

    21. notroseefar on

When was this taken, oh before trump, alot has changed in the last 4 weeks

    22. mike_reddit_ on

The question about Ukraine and Europe can be confusing as misunderstanding EU versus Europe as a continent. Why not using the same grading as for the previews pages?

    23. Typical_Discount532 on

I’m going to go out on a limb and say these four countries should be on four separate tallied lists, not grouped together.

      Edit: further context

    24. Xanikk999 on

As an American it is very sad for me to see how Trump is ruining this country. I wish we had more people with a straight head on their shoulders who voted against him.

    25. japie_booy on

China is a worthy competitor, but not our enemy. The US should fall in any form of regard. Russia has soldified itself as enemy.

I am suprised of these statistics

    26. RomanceDawnOP on

as a european can confirm my opinion of USA has gone from ”neccessary partner” to ”fuck the US” over the past couple of months, can confirm basically the same for everyone i know

    27. No_Software3435 on

Well, no one asked to me. I’m British and definitely don’t see US as an ally. I’m European and have little in common with the US. Not even the language.

    28. Bravemount on

I’m a bit surprised to see France didn’t have a worse opinion of the US than Germany.

    29. ScotsmanScott on

Before Trump took office I’d view the US as an ally, now I’d say a necesarry strategic partner but probably not one we can rely on. Trump probably has a more favourable view of Putin and Russia than he does of any other European country.

‘Survey conducted in November and December 2024’

I guess now views on USA are FAR worse after Trump started his circus.

    31. This is new data, but it almost already feels outdated. My opinion of the US has changed significantly since November.
