      Well, yeah that was patently obvious back before his first term in 2017. Whatever hold over him Putin had over him, Trump just seems to do his bidding.

      He’s a tool in more ways than one.

      The US attitude towards EU has been obvious since Nulands “F*ck the EU” a decade ago.

      In their eyes the EU is a burden. By negotiating an end to the war in Ukraine they get the resources of Ukraine while seeing an even weaker EU.

      Trump is just more blunt about it. The only difference here is that he sees Putin as more of an ally

      US has always wanted a weaker more compliant Europe which they have mostly achieved.
