Why don’t all agencies and councils install bins then have bin turf wars to see who collects the most, problem solved everyone wins.

The meeting to resolve the issue went a little like this “This is our area to neglect”, “no its ours”, “no its ours”.

Are we trusting mr Pidgeon on a matter relating to public trash? 🐦

    4. They’ve been actively removing bins from Bushy Park recently. Used to pass 3/4 on a loop and they went one by one until there are now none left.

Some local authorities are terrified that people might actually use bins if they are provided. It’s not just a Dublin City thing,to be fair. There will always be an element of free loading from the pay for nothing brigade and, as is the Irish way, everyone must therefore be punished.

There’s a real dearth of bins around Dublin 8. Where they are to be found they’re usually hotspots for household waste which ironically makes the place look even more dirty.

I think at a minimum there should be at least one bin within 5m of a bus stop and within 10m of a shop/cafe/restaurant especially in the outer city.

People in the suburban places like Co. Fingal and Co. DLR seem to be doing better with bins.
