      Honestly, it is much better this way. It is out in the open, no doubt about it…. we can NOT depend on the USA as partners or allies.

      We can move forward without them.

      America wants to focus on China and Middle east. Russia is irrelevant nowadays in regards to global trade.

      Tax the fuck out of their tech companies operating here. In the countries the revenue is generated and not some IP tax dodge. That will help with increasing military spending and help foster domestic firms.

      NATO is a zombie under the Trump admin. In his absence US lawmakers did pass a proposal which stipulates that a two thirds majority is needed in the Senate for the US to leave NATO, but I’m sure the current White House is already trying to figure out how that could be changed.

      it’s the plan, the EU is in a pincer attack, orchestrated by China, using trump and Putin. So much for those great think tanks, amazing how prepared they were for all this. laughing at how stupid Americans are while standing there with their pants pulled down around their ankles, welcome to the party of stupid

      Oh no. America is looking for a negotiated deal so they don’t have to bankroll Ukraine and the EU any further. But, we, the EU will get together in 6 months’ time, pass regulations protecting the diameter of spaghetti, fleece a few US corporations and use that money to send Ukraine more helmets and handkerchiefs. We are so powerful and united.

      It is no longer 1970. Even without the Americans, Russia could not invade the European Union – Russia is stuck in trench warfare against one of the poorest non-EU countries it shares a direct border with. Russia’s direct EU neighbours have been re-arming for years, are backed by other EU countries (i.e. German troops increasingly rotating through Latvia, etc.), and France has a nuclear umbrella protecting Germany.

      Europe will be fine without the US.

      The tragedy will be for small countries around the world, who have aggressive neighbors – the EU does not have expeditionary capabilities (aside from France), and likely these small states will mostly be on their own except for potentially EU humanitarian aid.

      Global trade/shipping will be negatively impacted – which is why the US was so keen to project force globally in the first place, but the present American government is to illiterate to appreciate that, and they live in an ideological fantasy world where they ignore the rules of reality.
