Won’t be like that this year , trump dislikes Europe , Putin and him are best mates now . Don’t buy American products anymore the insults in Munich were degrading, set up trade with China . Make China our number 1 . Europe has been through enough on soil wars to put up with their childish lectures.

A lot of this stuff is extremely sticky : it takes many years to set up pharma production lines and people who are consuming the output in many cases cannot change.
You don’t just stop needing medicines.
So while tariffs may be applied, it’s unlikely to change very much.
Tariffs only really work when there’s an internal market capable of assuming the role of delivering the goods being tariffed, and in the US there absolutely isn’t.

We need to start directing some of that money into Irish tech start ups. The Irish now have great experience in tech and Europe is crying out for alternatives to the likes of Palantir and OpenAI.
