      Hello friends 👋

I am absolutely disgusted with the american president and those who voted for him. I am so proud of us & European allies last week for saying ‘no’ thats not how it works.

To call the russian dictator is a clear statement of his intentions.

The UK remains an ardent supporter of both Europe and Ukraine and together we will remain strong.

I tear up every time I make these posts. Just know it means so much to some of us. 🥺

I am proud of my government, prime minister and our European allies for sticking together and having Ukraine’s back.

Just like world War I and world War II, the battleground will be in Europe and the Americans will be late!

This is all making me feel very uncomfortable. Let’s hope this leads to a peaceful resolution. I do believe that it necessarily important to take this stand… Sad that it has come this point.

    4. To be brutally honest there is too much talk from European countries and not enough action. Three years and all I see is a load of yammering. Even now. Actions speak louder.

That’s politicians for you. Never waste a good press conference to make your grand statement. Then do what? Doubling Ukraine aid? Announce the UK meeting a 3 percent GDP funding target by the end of this year? Say you will bring the Army back up to a baseline of 100k troops with fresh equipment orders? Say you intend to deploy supporting troops to Ukraine starting next month?

Of course not. Just a statement about how terrible everything is, if only someone would do something.

Ukraine needs our help urgently. Donate directly to Ukraine’s armed forces at [https://u24.gov.ua/](https://u24.gov.ua/)

You and I can help stop Putin and tyrants like him, now, by force.

The Prime Minister is correct. The effort to reduce the US military presence in Europe started during the first term of the Clinton presidency. After the fall of the Belin Wall. It has been a goal for some time and is just much more visible now given the current situation.

Europe needs to end its old-world nationalist individual country thinking. Europe needs to become collectively European. For example, that same individual nationalist country thinking resulted in no real agreement today in Paris. The rhetoric has been the same for the last two decades. If you don’t want to go back that long, how about the last three years? Save your nationalist views for the football pitch. It’s time for the EU to come together as something other than a trade and monetary union.

Thank goodness the UK is leading the way.

I like and support the people of Europe. I worked often in various European countries for 15 years (I’m very aware of the nationalist views). Retired now. Also, not all of us in the US voted for Trump. Many Americans like me don’t like him either and many others are now suffering from “buyer’s remorse”.

As Portuguese I stand with you, we shall maintain our alliance (Treaty of Windsor), the oldest on record, and fight for our shared European values, whatever it takes.
