This assumes that you can implement most of your program in the first place and that your proposals are economically and legally feasible. Graphs like this look so idealistic that it just makes you wonder if they wouldn’t tank the already crappy economy in the process. There’s probably a reason why the rest of the left doesn’t go that far to the left.

To all far-right parties in Europe I give just one mandate, they possibly can’t get any more because all have one thing in common—enriching themselves as much as they can while making the people the poorest they possibly can be.

Maybe just give every citizen 10.000.000€, it will only cost 830€ trillion and by my calculations it will decrease poverty by 100%.

Who calculates this and on what methodology? As far as I’m concerned, as an economist, you can’t really determine which policies will increase or decrease poverty across the board.

Sure, a leftist party might come in and roll out all sorts of welfare programs which would mean people could avoid poverty. On the other hand, those programs are usually paid by workers & businesses, thus hampering growth and ensuring more people will require these programs. On the other hand, some programs like investment in education will generally boost the economy and ensure fewer people would need welfare. On the other hand, not ensuring a fair economic growth could lead to some people falling in poverty despite the majority doing better.

This also depends on the economic cycle and other factors that could be out of a government’s control like a pandemic, drought, war… or a boom in an industry brought by innovation.

All in all, if you want to ensure fewer and fewer people risk falling into poverty, you don’t just pump money into welfare. You invest smart in infrastructure and education, protect the rule of law, ensure a balance between employee and employer, and tax fairly… and ensure stability.
