It collapsed because Trump is a conman who doesn’t know how to make a deal. He didn’t even write his book “The art of the deal”. He had multiple bankruptcies, which doesn’t mean anything on itself, many wealthy individuals failed before succeding, but the man managed to make a casino go bankrupt.

      And he’s a russian asset

    2. He never made deals, he didn’t even write that stupid book! All he ever did was bankrupt companies and not pay people.

The New Jersey gaming/casino commission has infractions against him since the 1980’s and his dad before that.

Years ago I saw Anthony Bourdain on a Trump rant, at the time I had no idea that everything he said was true, and that one day this grifter would be president….

Zelensky would have been told in advance by other leaders who he trusts that Trump was sending his lackey to try and strongarm a worse set of demands than the reparations the Germans had to pay. The deal was leaked, Zelensky forewarned, and he said no. The US cannot be trusted. He knows this. Europe can.

This extortion was a direct violation of thee Budapest Memorandum. Why would anyone listen to America when they never follow their own pledges.

Trumps whole deal is changing terms unilaterally, signed contracts be damned.

Am I reading it wrong or does this deal offer nothing to Ukraine? USA went full debt collection mode?

Please, please guys, just read ALL the article in full, it is very, very clear that the trump administration are all friggin CHARLATANS, with no real commitment to Ukraine, just to plunder their resources for not US government gain, but for private companies and individual gains.

Sorry for the long post but that article Is well worth reading. The beneficiaries of the (atrocious and unforgivable) deal was not the US government but a “to be selected” group of private companies.

Trump advance are using American dollars, military tech and potentially lives to negotiate private access to mineral wealth. See below.

The deal was structured as a memorandum that would split profits from Ukraine’s natural resources 50/50 – half for the Ukrainian government (with the understanding that if Kyiv wanted to share with Europeans, that would come out of its own share) and the other half for the US.

Crucially, the beneficiaries on the American side would not be the US government but private investors. The specific companies involved were not determined at this stage. Instead, the US proposed setting up a trust fund to which Ukraine would transfer the rights to develop its resources. This fund would then select the American companies who would extract – and profit from – Ukraine’s minerals.

Although US President Donald Trump has publicly stated that the deal was focused on rare earth metals (many of which are located in Russian-occupied territories), the proposed agreement was far broader, covering lithium, oil, gas, and other key resources as well.

tl;dr: The US turned up with a ‘I give you nothing but expect you to make my private billionaire buddies richer, sign this now. No alterations’ demand, and said they would cancel future meetings if they didn’t sign… and so Ukraine told them to get fucked. The US then flustered and confused failed to follow through with their threats and had the meeting anyway, doing a complete 180 and apparently agreeing to the Ukrainian view on multiple points.

Truely, as far as negotiators go, they aren’t sending their best… Or maybe they are. 🙄

Trump makes me want to vomit every day. His administration is filled to the brim with drunks, idiots, extremists, rapists, criminals etc.. America.exe has failed to reboot. Ukraine has been my number one concern when it comes to US policies. I and the majority of Californians voted for Harris. This is just a horrible nightmare none of us can seem to wake up from. I’m backing every effort to defy this abomination and to support Ukraine! 🇺🇦

President Zelensky should sell his rare earth minerals to China, maybe they can guarantee his country’s safety?

Just another cash grab for the billionaire class.
