      Thats so funny, google providing better housing options to gards and nurses than government.

      Can you imagine this global corporate profit driven behemoth thought more of these people than their own elected political representatives.

      Ah fantastic, back to the early twentieth century when the likes of Cadburys or the coal mines would provide housing for workers.

      It’s not quite the same in this case I suppose but it’s going that way again.

      I gonna wait now and see how quickly rooms go up to rent after a garda gets in to one of them.

      I hope they’re paying tax in the difference between the rent they’re paying and the real market value.

      The one thing I would like to add is if they can do more incentives for labourers or construction workers to attract them here. Or at least give them lower tax rates just to get more building happening throughout the country.

      Google now basically hiring its own public services staff to accomodate the area housing its workers. Good for the people that will take advantage of it, but it does feel like a landlord providing some nice little outhouses for the serfs who make things go.

      This is bad, very bad. Combining this with removal of rent pressure zones this will indenture employees to Google.

      If companies can afford this they can pay more taxes.

      It’s not perfect but using increased taxes to fund rent would be a better idea than leaving it up to private companies.
