I said it back then, I say it now: Brits we miss you and you will always be welcome home.

It’s the same old story: either you have the cake, or you eat it. Or you may eat some and have the rest, but you have to negotiate this.

The problem for the brits is nothing has really changed since May and Bojo failed to get concessions. Closer ties would mean agreeing to more EU law, and the whole point of brexit was to not be beholden to it. The EU will not suddenly go easy on the UK, because it can’t.

So they leave the EU, only to have to adopt EU regulations anyway, except this time with no influence on them? That’s some big brain geopolitics

    4. They ll never get the priviliged deal back lol

Get in line and be happy with the standard eu treaty

The UK’s future is in Europe and therefor in the EU. In these times there will always be an EU-like organization in Europe. It’s simply an inevitability that those who cooperate together are stronger together. Britain/UK should return and the EU shouldn’t be too difficult about returning to the older status. I am for a symbolic slap on the wrist for the UK by limiting some of the opt-outs they used to enjoy to prevent other countries from flip-flopping around.

World events really have overtaken Brexit. One of the ‘sells’ was to take us closer to the US. Not sure how well that plays these days (loonies aside). Puts Farage in a bit of a spot.
