It’s the belief that freedom is incompatible with Democracy.       All this to say that they know they’re full of shit. They know we know they’re full of shit. But Europe was not Vance’s target audience, it was the Americans watching who need to be deluded into thinking that their way is inherently superior to the oppressive dystopia that is Europe.

      how is this an argument? people always so quick to downplay criticism with this whataboutism. everyone just brushes the speech and its content away instead of acknowledging big issues we have in europe. e.g. as far as im aware, there are “hate speech laws” in the pipeline that basically make it illegal to even discuss certain topics, like mass migration in the near future.
