      >**Adil El Arbi (36) and Bilall Fallah (39) are making a film about Sanda Dia, the student who was killed in 2018 after a student baptism at the Reuzegom association. The directing duo achieved international fame thanks to ‘Bad Boys’.**

      >Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have snagged their next project. The internationally renowned filmmakers will make a feature film on the tragic story of Sanda Dia, together with the Brussels production house Komoko.

      >The screenplay is based on the books ‘They killed my son’ by Sanda’s father, Ousmane ‘Papis’ Dia, and ‘The baptism that led to death’ by journalist Pieter Huyberechts. This gripping story looks back at the shocking events surrounding the 2018 death of Sanda Dia, a 20-year-old student who died during a violent hazing ritual. His death caused national outrage and sparked much-needed debate about systemic privilege, racism, justice and responsibility, both in Belgium and abroad.

      >‘Like everyone else, we were in shock of what happened to Sanda during those two days. When we got in touch with his father, Papis Dia, we were impressed by his courage, his wisdom and his willpower to fight for justice,’ Adil and Bilall chime in. ‘This film a love letter from him to Sanda. We recognise ourselves in Sanda, we recognise/acknowledge our parents in Papis.’

      >Two years ago, all 18 Reuzegom members were found guilty. They were held responsible for Dia’s death and sentenced to fines and community service of up to 400 hours. However, there was no effective jail time, and their criminal records also remained empty.

      >The latest film by the director duo El Arbi-Fallah, ‘Patsers’, premiered in Belgian theatres as recently as Monday.

Unrelated but the Dutch tv-show ‘Feuten’ has a storyline that’s eerily similar to what happened to Sanda Dia and actually came out a few years before the events occurred.

If anything is het ne fuckin’ loser, sorry.
