Maybe fusion really is 20 years away this time.
Imagine if the researchers and engineers from France and China cooperated and shared their research.

Stupid title. As their name imply, EAST and WEST tokamak are part of the same team and both contribute to ITER. WEST achievement would not have been possible without the lastest EAST record and both will probably break their respective records again in the next years.

What is it that tends to cause the end of these things? Plasma pollution? Overheat? Lack of fuel? As in what made it stop at 22min?
Great news, even if non of the current models and fusion trials are the final form of the technology their pieces will provide invaluable information. Imagine what the world could be with functionally unlimited pollution free energy. We could actually do carbon capture maybe. We could change our environments for the better reversing their long time destruction.
Maybe a dumb dream, but I always wanted to see much of our countries reforested.

I’m really affraid of what Will we do if we ever have cheap and clean energy.
For example no limitation for an oversized AI capable of managing us like sheep. Or exterminate like ants.
