Who will arbitrate the divorce between the IS and Europe? Will the United Nations still exist?

I want a 500k strong joint European Military force backed up by several hundred fighter jets before summer, pronto. We already have the active duty personnel in Europe for this. **It doesn’t have to be an official European Army yet but a coalition of the willing**, just create the command structure, add the troops, use English the Lingua Franca, but at the same time put soldiers from the same nationalities in the same units as much as possible if you can to boost morale. Austria-Hungary fucked this part up big time in WW1 and they were even weaker than Russia.

Britain is invited too, along with Norway and all EU nations. We can hit 500k from both new recruits and existing armed forces. Let’s be realistic, my country, The Netherlands, has like 50k troops. We could easily spare 40k of them and keep 10k at home. 500k is peanuts. Pay these soldiers western European salaries even if they are from a poorer country. This salary could even come from the EU whatever. Quick decisions must be made.

The explicit goal of this military force is to defend EU (and Norwegian/UK) territory at all costs. A secondary goal is they might be needed in Ukraine and anyone signing up must be aware of that. Send them to the Baltics, Poland, Romania, and have them perform training exercises to get familiarised with each other.

Essentially a coalition if the willing, with a command structure similar to NATO, but without the US. France and Britain are currently most suited to lead this anti-Russia force at the highest level. In the future, Germany and Italy could play bigger roles.

It’s a bandaid solution until we can establish an actual European Military, which would be focused around the EU but hopefully with Britain, Norway and others as partners in a mutual defense treaty.

Edit: I am aware that actually equipping 500k troops with more than just small arms is difficult, but we have time to ramp that up and firm more and more artillery/MLRS brigades, mechanised brigades and, in collaboration with Ukraine: Drone operator units.

Btw, Canada, New Zealand and Australia are invited too.

Edit 2: I am also aware that these are not 500k combat troops, although all will be armed. Lots will be in logistics and other roles. Russia and Ukraine have 1 million troops each but afaik those also include the logistical backbone and the actual combat troops are 20% of that or less.

Edit 3: it’s literally on our continent with good roads and only a couple hundred kilometers away, I don’t want to hear about how difficult this would be. We should build field bases in the countries mentioned above to keep the troops comfortable. And safe with AA.
