      >The feeling was that he was extremely vulnerable intellectually

      You don’t say.

I mean this is not new information but that its now more pushed than ever in the media shows that the west realizes that the game of pretending is over. Trump will not even pretend to play along the old allies but speedrunning in reshaping america to his vision now that it seems that there is no resistance left.

      > Trump was the perfect target in a lot of ways: his vanity, narcissism made him a natural target to recruit.

The Russians are better at character assessment than the Republican party.

Agent Orange……He was such an obvious target. Ego, no moral compass, low IQ…….he is the quintesential “Useful idiot”

Weird if Trump was a Russian asset then why has he been trying since his first term to get European NATO members to massively increase their defense budgets? That seems wildly contradictory to Russias best interest.

And the right are the only ones that delude themselves in conspiracy.

There’s no concrete proof. The source could also just be some liar or a troll. It’s a popular belief especially now that it’s out in the open that he softened up to Putin that he might’ve been a compromat all along as well as Elon. I’ve said it myself too, before he even started agreeing with Putin. But there’s too much plausible deniability to claim that we “know” that he is actually working *for* the Russians, and not just liking their style and wanting it on America, or some long-game to sweet-talk Putin while not doing 100% what he’s talking about doing.

We can’t deny that while Zelenskyy is truthful in a lot of what he said in the past week, it is kind of bad diplomacy on his part to sit and say that Trump is in a “disinformation space” and “repeating Russia” while Trump is actually in the talks with them. Most of us come from Zelenskyy’s POV in that regard, but on the off-chance that Trump was actually going “Used Car Salesman Mode” on Putin, what Zelenskyy just did kinda called it out, and he probably shouldn’t have bit his tongue like that in a public facing interview.

But we’ll see. If Trump is really a russian tool it won’t be too surprising, and if it was 100% proven it could maybe make the public in america wake up and realize they have a country to take back from foreign takeover.

It doesn’t need to be a detailed plan but just feeding the ego of a narcissist the idea for them to run with it makes the most sense. With the relationship already built from the ground floor, the perfect idiot doesn’t even know he’s an agent.

That’s not even the worst thing about Trump. There was a lawsuit accusing Trump and Epstein raping a woman when she was 13 year old but then the case was mysteriously dropped and she disappeared. I wouldn’t be suprised Trump sent is goon and scared her in to dropping it.

But the News media were complicit in this by covering it up…I’m glad at least they aren’t covering this one up.

    11. Trump plays the cards he has to make a “profit”. There’s no ideological substrate to it. US and Russia have negotiating power, Europe doesn’t. That’s pretty much all there is to it.

US can threaten us and we have something to lose, while we can’t do the same at this point to US, Russia or any other important country (China, India) out there.
