Why would they sign anything before knowing the results of the German elections and the major meeting on Monday with many of the EU defense leads?

All of the “it will happen soon” shit is from Trump’s circle. Here is a hopeful prediction (who couldn’t use some hope right now?): Zelensky uses these negotiations to actually get a shitload of resources from the US because Trump is such a horrible negotiator IRL who just wants to say that he “made a deal.”

Must be a merits based deal and with requirement of not lifting most sanctions. If Ukraine gets back the south us gets x. If Ukraine gets reparations from Russia the us gets y…… If it is just Russia gets all they want then the US gets nothing (and no deal).

Now, I hope that my representatives say no to the “surrender Ukraine within 3 weeks” deal with Trump too and let him remove all US troops from European soil, if that is what he wishes for. We have to own up to our political failings of the last few decades and own this mistake. If we have another war on our hands, as we were too sluggish in building a European army. Then, go for it. But giving in to that extortion is not the way to go.
