What a mess. Zurich Police was shutdown by Federal then Zurich said to hell with you and detain the guy anyway. No good outcome from this one regardless who points fingers and who take blame its a shit show,

Headline should probably read „initially opposed“. They apparently changed their security risk assessment after the guy was already here, potentially due to new information.
From the article, it looks to me like initially they assessed that generically the guy wasn‘t a security risk, but then they became aware of certain of his planned activities in Switzerland, which specifically made the guy a security risk due to these planned activities.
Also, from the article i have to conclude that he was not „abducted“ (like the article claims), but just legally detained / arrested.
In addition, according to the article, the guy claims he was never informed why he was detained, but on the other hand the article confirms that legal papers were served to him by the police and he was able to talk with his lawyer.
He‘s free to challenge any governmental decisions based on the appeals instructions („Rechtsmittelbelehrung“) required to be written on all official government decisions handed to him.
