Pocket change compared to the IT system debacle, but who wasn’t doing their job correctly on this?

    2. The RTE Doc on 1 team did a good [podcast series about this woman last year](https://www.rte.ie/radio/doconone/1455308-the-real-carrie-jade/).

If anyone is interested. They’ve been doing some really good podcast series these last few years.

They have one oming out at the moment called “Where is Jon” about the Icelandic man who vanished while in Dublin for a poker tournament a few years ago.

€150m a year in grants, the likelihood of some going somewhere they shouldn’t is high. Issue for the arts council now is they are in the crosshairs and every little or large mistake will be picked apart.

Don’t mention the Arts Council wasting money on an IT project that should have been centrally managed.

I’m wildly impressed that someone who was not from literature managed to convince her assessors from the field of literature that a) she was in the same field as them b) she had or was writing books. Obviously her writing level must be very good. Literature is also a notoriously closed scene so to be from outside Ireland and convince them she had merits equal to theirs she’d probably had to back up claims with support from organisations and institutions. I wouldn’t think this was some photoshop job, she properly understood the field and what kind of career trajectory was being looked for. Very impressive scam!

I’d love to learn her secrets, I applied for far less in my grant applications on multiple occasions and got soundly rejected.
