“Non è difficile 190 miliardi di russi. Tutto è difficile. Il tempo di facile è finito. Se non iniziamo a fare le cose difficili, è tutto finito per noi.” – Gabrieus Landsbergis, ex FM della Lituania.

Beautifully spoken.
Damn. That’s a good speech.
How many nukes can we build to target the Russian dictator?
Gabrielius is a legend! Joined the protesters on the Freedom Square in Georgia and gave a beautiful speech, this type of mindset and these types of bold moves is exactly what EU needs at the moment
So true
“The time of easy is over” a great way to sum it up.
We have work to do and we have to do it fast
We should honestly have done this from the begining.
But, if we yoink it, and spend it ALL on gear, equipment, medical supplies, civilian relief, information gathering, and on and on we go… then we can show the orange reich how they cant cripple us by just walking away like cowards.
And we need to do it now, to avoid yank and ruskie pressure to give them everything back, let go of all sanctions, and go back to being on our knees in front of them, begging for oil and buying power.
Fuck them.
Slave Ukraine. Democracy is not for sale!

I am tired of these countries that didn’t want to pay for their security, what they will do after those Russians assets will finish? are these guys understanding the stake or they simply don’t have any money to defend itself? 🤔🤦♂️
When will you stop speaking and start acting. I mean the EU in general.
Alright, i’m going to be the devils advocate here but you CANT just take the money from euroclear.
they are uniting financial markets and cross border securities , you can’t just do that, if you do it it’s basically a precedent of taking out money when you could have any sort of dispute .. other countries wouldn’t be able to trust that sytem anymore. It could have a nuclear snowbal effect .
Look at it this way, imagine some “russian” money is there of a company that basically has nothing to do with the war, let’s say something in the food industry or whatever .. u can’t just take that money cause their state leaders are doing atrocious things . point other line, if we can’t do that it’s the end of free trade basically
With all due respect it’s a speech of a Lithuanian guy. It’s easy for him to say. Unfortunately if EU won’t be one body we’ll have beautiful speeches and issues with hard decisions.
Countries that mostly have these frozen assets like DE and FR would lose their credibility and this can be a blow to their economy. That’s why until one of the two member states wont accept it won’t matter. UK is making a move, France can be next. Only then DE might follow. Don’t expect DE to lead – at least until they won’t form the new government.
we literally have free money just lying there ready to be spent on defence… but “its too difficult” to take it
geez
