We know Trump is a liar, and Putin not a man of his word.

A dictator obeying and not breaking a peace deal? Yep, that’s worked out in the past… (*wink, wink*)

Putin: “I am altering the deal, pray I don’t alter it any further.”

Remind me, what were the guarantees for Ukraine when it was giving away it’s nuclear weapons?

    14. EDRootsMusic on

That’s a pretty dumb thing to think, given that his cronies in Donbas violated the previous three peace deals and his invasion of Ukraine is a breaking of the Budapest Memorandum.

Bit like me trying to convince the local neighbours that your Pit bull won’t ever bite any one again even thought he’s done it several times and you had a nice long talk with….

    18. Here’s a short list of some of the times Russia under Putin (since 1999) broke agreements to invade, take territory, or secure local power:

      1. Chechnya (1999): Re-invaded, ended autonomy, installed pro-Russian leader.

      2. Georgia (2008): Invaded, took Abkhazia and South Ossetia, backed pro-Russian regimes.

      3. Crimea (2014): Annexed from Ukraine, set up pro-Russian rule.

      4. Donbas (2014–): Backed separatists in Ukraine, created pro-Russian DPR/LPR.

      5. Belarus (2020–): Supported Lukashenko’s regime against protests.

      6. Kazakhstan (2022): Sent troops to prop up pro-Russian government.

      7. Ukraine (2022–): Full invasion, annexed four regions, installed pro-Russian officials.

I’m sure Putin will remain peaceful this time.

I’ve just finished listening to a podcast, [The Spy Who](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-spy-who/id1728948939) and the latest series …who Invaded Suburbia.

TLDR: It’s about the Russian operatives who spent their lives in the USA as Joe blogs next door making personal contacts with people who could be, would be in power. It a Russia’s long game of cultivating pro Russian sentiment over decades. It was the real life basis of the TV show the Americans.

Has a US president ever been so pro Russia? Is it just a coincidence that Russia spent multi millions over decades funding a multi generational spy programme to achieve this exact thing…….and here we are.

“won’t break peace deal”… Isn’t that what Stalin believed of Hitler before getting invaded by the Wehrmacht?
