Knew him from College Green before I knew he’d ever been on TV
Never talked to him myself but heard and read plenty of stories of friendly encounters with him

As a child growing up in 80s ireland he was on tv a lot, I remember him from pats chat. I always found.him entertaining as a kid. Then he disappeared – suddenly. Always thought that was a bit unusual. RiP Pat, you added a note of much needed colour to 80s grey ireland
