Why is this STILL being talked about? For the past few years, this triple lock debate has been shut down over and over again.

At what point does this shit begin to just become an authoritarian veto over the peoples wishes? If the people of this country said no to the dismantling of the Triple Lock and the breakdown of our Neutrality, why is it being asked over and over again and debated as if its like an active non-stop call from society? As if we’re going to just give in through enough pestering? Its clear that you’re not respecting the wishes and opinions of your constituents.

I understand that the recent events with Trump has gotten everyone a bit shook, but can we stop pretending like Ireland is some integral part of some military alliance or some key arms partner? And one can IMAGINE the money sink that a development of the Armed Forces would bring about under FF-FG.

We shouldn’t entertain this shit. Especially not under Fianna Fail-Fine Gael. Its a fucking joke.

Edit: And for those who are saying “well, the UN shouldn’t control our armed forces”, can we please look at the greater context here? This isn’t just about removing the UN from our Neutrality policy. This is the first step in eroding the Triple Lock policy since the government couldn’t fucking do it in totality.
