This has been the plan all along, for years. To make America (and Russia) great again, they had to make Europe weak.

And they started this many, many years ago, eroding trust, infiltrating the highest state ranks, encouraging corruption and terror, swaying elections, destroying unity, seeding doubt and fearmongering.
2 powers who can only grow on other’s misfortune and wars are now shaking hands above our heads. One backstabs, while the other prepares to pounce.

They are not even bothering to hide it anymore.

      We must unite and defend.

    3. Agitated-Actuary-195 on

Yes it will be painful for Europe, but boy is this going to backfire on US…

Drop the dollar…. remove its federated status and federate currency in EU (super Euro)…

I’m done with US – I hope you get everything you so richly deserve

    4. AdminEating_Dragon on

      OK, great.

It’s better that it happens, because EU leaders are still under the illusion that the USA is an ally.

Let’s rub it to their face that it’s not.

    5. The sooner the better, just get it over and done with and let Europe and Canada build a new NATO without the US.

    6. Camelbak99 on

So we all expect that Trump will get at least 2/3 backing in the American Congress ( both the Senate and the House of Representatives) to pull the US out of NATO or that all other NATO members just quit?

    7. Does anyone believe that if today Russia attacks any NATO members US would honor the alliance?

    8. Bloomhunger on

Even if not, can anyone simply trust the US anymore, before a change of leadership?

But we don’t need blind spending in defense. We need to focus on deterrence above all.

Nukes and multiple methods of delivery, all across the continent (do we trust Le Pen more than Trump? What about the next person?)

Other unconventional weapons. Harder to sell, but alternatives to nukes would be good.

Besides that, it’s extremely important to focus on:

      Drones. They are the future.

      Cyberwarfare.

      Satellite communications.

    9. morbihann on

Could be ? The US has thretened the territorial integrity and outright sovereignity of two of its own allies.

    10. VibrantGypsyDildo on

It is not the end of alliance, it is the withdrawal of USA.

There are still two nuclear countries there (UK & France), there is a significant non-nuclear army (Turkey) and there is a mighty country willing to join (Ukraine).

    11. Markis_Shepherd on

If they’re gonna do it, now is a good time. Russia is weak. Not sure that the us will leave actually. They would lose a ton of defense contracts and Trump cares (only) about money and his ego.

    12. xExerionx on

Fuk nato we need an EU army without US influence..
While we are at it EU needs to take back control of ASML. Kick US politics out of that company

    13. JellyOpen8349 on

The time for drastic measures has come. Everyone will be affected, it will be painful and it will anger those who don’t look beyond their own four walls. In the short term this might strengthen divisive forces even more but it is our only chance for survival.

    14. ChoiceResearcher5549 on

I love hearing Trump talk about how bad NATO is when America is the only country to actually invoke A5.

    15. an alliance with Turkey remais europe’s hope, like a neo-nato without the US

    16. EconomyEmbarrassed76 on

America pulling out of NATO would not be the “end” of NATO. France and the UK are still nuclear armed states.

Article 5 would still unleash the combined might of 31 nations, including countries like Finland, Sweden and Poland, all of whom are countries you do not f**k around with, and countries like France, Germany and UK, who have some of the best defence contractors in the world, and the EU’s combined economy is a behemoth.

The only nation that can match that alone is the US.

NATO would not be dead. Weaker? Absolutely, and massively so. But dead? No.

If the US pulled out of NATO, it would be the final nail in the coffin that Europe, UK and Canada no longer needs to follow the US’ lead. And let’s not forget, the two recent conflicts prior to Ukraine, that NATO countries got directly involved in, Iraq and Afghanistan, were to serve American goals and policy…

    17. We should be kicking them out and it shouldn’t be them deciding they can leave. Trump threatened Denmark (Greenland) and Canada with invasion. That should have had immediate repercussions.

    18. Jackright8876lwd on

time to go back to the cold war armory stock levels in europe.

And hopefully we’ll be able to create a european army

    19. AndreBerg on

Its a lost cause. If there ever will be a change in administration again, US would have to rewrite law and constitution as its clear now current checks and ballance is not working to protect democracy. But i highly doubt the US will ever come back from this. One can only hope that they will let the most of the world survive without a big war.

    20. When Biden was president i was 90% sure they would. 20 Jan. came along and Trump became President, that dropped to 50% and for the past 2-3 weeks that dropped to 0%. When Trump said that he would even encourage Putin to do what ever i wants, i take that seriously.

Bravo Trump, you just destroyed the biggest military alliance we spent building for the past 76 years, in just 2 weeks. What ever happens to the USA, they deserve it. People voted for that, fuck them

    21. Even when NATO collapses, there’s a chance for a new chapter, aka the phrase: “The king is dead, long live the king!”

    22. Amenophos on

We all KNOW that trump can’t pull out of NATO without 2/3 of Congress, right…? And plenty of Republicans don’t even want to leave NATO.

Europe and Canada setting up their OWN parallel organization (NATO — the US), making the US irrelevant, now THAT’S something that both could and should happen ASAP.

    23. End of US membership could be days away, sure, but that doesn’t end NATO. If US is butthurt about the remaining members still calling it NATO, we can change the name, but it’s still NATO.

Suggestion for a new name: Friendly United Countries Keen To Restore Uphold and Maintain Peace.

    24. hader_brugernavne on

I made the mistake of reading the comments. Full of people celebrating it, wanting the UK to make a special deal with the US and not join the rest of us, and just generally bashing Germany.

That’s all part of the plan too. Drive a wedge between the UK and the rest of Europe to weaken us all. There’s a reason ghouls like Musk love Brexit. Right now they are using tariffs and fear or war to push the UK to submit to the US and abandon European alliances.

Next step of weakening Europe is to drive its countries apart. Don’t think it stops with the US leaving NATO, oh no.

    25. thatsexypotato- on

I never thought I would see the end of the western world as we know it in my lifetime

    26. if you listen quitely you can almost hear putin’s grinning.

    27. a drunken father abandon the family. does that means the doom of that family? not necesarily if the family stick together. it will be painful for sure, Mom get to have a job again and kids will have to learn to take care of themself at younger age. but together they will achieve some goals they could never imagined before.

    28. buddhistbulgyo on

Europe need to be taking this hybrid war a little more fucking seriously. Bots have flooded every corner of the internet pushing disinformation, confusion and distraction. They need to combat this at the same scale as Russia and China. Europe is 20 fucking years behind on this and they’ll be playing catch up. A million bots making comments all day long for 20 years does a lot of damage to democracy and EU leaders don’t get it. They’re arrogant. They don’t see how the damage adds up and they have diverted funs and built a program to defend democracy. And now the world is in the situation we are in.

    29. Hikuro93 on

Seeing as how Elon just has to [make a tweet](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0TMSQP8-knc) while on a Ketamine high at 4 AM to make all the Republicans on Congress to back down on even nearly unanimous decisions right before the vote takes place, yeah. It does seem that way.

But they’ll be ‘free’ from us ‘freeloaders’ I guess, so no problem even if these decisions come from a guy who isn’t even American, was not elected and is controlling from behind the elected puppets – and even said puppets I’m not convinced were ‘fairly elected’, given current affairs.

I guess it’s for the best of everyone involved… Truly irredeemable.

    30. Lennyleonard_ on

I feel this is misleading. NATO will survive, but it will survive without America. Right now Russia is on its arse, it’s army is depleted and exhausted so we in Europe are not at risk until Russia can rearm so we have time to organise. A worry that I have is if Trump gets his generals appointment to key positions that America would actually be a threat to us if the orangutan gets butthurt over something.

    31. LavisAlex on

Its almost like Trump made a deal to give Europe to Russia and for the US to take North America.

Very short sighted, but i believe the US will attack Mexico and Canada.

    32. Jake-of-the-Sands on

NATO will not crumble – USA may leave it, but we still stand strong. And when USA becomes a country straight out of Atwood’s Handmaid’s Tale and collapse, we will have the last laugh.

    33. Sunscratch on

USA leaving alliance is not the end of the NATO. Sure, this will weaken it, but shouldn’t destroy.

Agent Krasnov I doing what he should. Europe should take a lesson from this

    34. Savage-September on

The alliance will continue to exist it will just be without America. They are cowards running from a fight. They have benefited the most out of this arrangement and we should have never given them all of the best parts of NATO. Going forward we will need to change how NATO will work ensuring that no country can ever run a protection racket against us. No country shall have this much power. The creators of NATO never intended for so much power to be awarded to one single state. For decades we have spent trillions on American made weapons, software and other equipment. They have profited highly and now they turn the guns on us and side with the enemy we were fighting againts. We have allowed them access into our continent to set up bases and patrol our waters, we have joined them on their neo-colonial conquests in the Middle East, even when it brought blowback on us. We are now left to deal with the rise of radical Islam and Islamophobia because of American greed for world dominance. NATO has to change and we must seek to limit the powers of countries to prevent them from blackmailing us into their will. Never again.

    35. i-readit2 on

NATO collapse days away. And not a single stone thrown by Russia. At a nato country . What a Putin success story . All thanks to puppet trump .

    36. BillsMaffia on

As a Canadian, I’m hoping the rest of the former NATO countries come to our defence when the time comes. At this point it seems more of a when not if.

    37. Only-Lead-9787 on

It’s so ironic that Trump says he wants to prevent WW3 but instead he’s laying the groundwork for it.

    38. dankspankwanker on

Usa was the only one who used article 5 of nato.

Now that its time to return the favour they run like cowards

    39. “Hey, AI, what is good name for Nato, if we only include Europe, and Canada”:

      1. ECTO – European-Canadian Treaty Organization
      2. Aegis Pact – Symbolizing protection and unity
      3. EurCan Alliance – Straightforward and recognizable
      4. Atlantic Shield – Emphasizing defense across the Atlantic
      5. North Atlantic Pact (NAP) – A simplified NATO alternative
      6. Euras Shield – European Alliance Shield
      7. EuroCan Defense League (ECDL) – Modern and clear
      8. Nordica Pact – If focusing on the northern transatlantic ties
