    1. Thanks Apple and America, thanks to the European nation that will supply them.

Well we’re not going to be getting F-35s or anything of the sort. All we need is reliable high-speed intercept and minimal deterrent capabilities. I’d bet money that they’ll end up with the Saab Gripen or the F-16 Viper.

The F-16s would be better for NATO interoperability and support, and given that we signed on to an Individually Tailored Partnership Programme with NATO last year, I’d say we’ll end up with the F-16s.

How does it take 50 years to get a jet? Putin will be well dead by then.

I hope we specify a set of stabilisers with them in the contract or we’ll get robbed on extras.

Fellers, I know a bloke in Walthamstow who’s the owner of a Gloster Meteor, it’s passed all its mandatory inspections this year and is fully approved for flight. He’s willing to sell it with a tank of fuel and some essential spares (filters and extra hydraulic lines) for €75k but he says you’ll have to find your own bullets. Lemino.

      Only a matter of time,

before we become another NATO pygmy.

Brilliant, delighted that this is finally happening. Hopefully we can return to the debate for the case for us to join NATO.

I would have though less conventional weapons would be a better fit. Drones or the like.
