Unfortunate circumstances, but in the end all this misery could become some kind of economic boom for EU, even further cementing our superior Inner/single market. We are the big guy in that aspect.

Denmark has to follow EU public tendering rules. Every EU company have the right to compete in winning the contract. Thus, this process takes some time.
**This is how the drawn-out timeline of Denmarks Ammunition facilities.**
* **February 2025:** In a press release, the Ministry of Defence announces that it has not been decided when production will begin. Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen states at a press conference on February 28 that the first shell from the factory is expected to be completed in 2027.
* **June 2024:** Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen says that it will take two years to get production started.
* **April 2024:** The ammunition factory officially returns to state ownership. The government plans to produce ammunition at the factory again for both Denmark and Europe.
* **September 2023:** Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen expects that it will take two years to get production started.
* **September 2023:** The state purchases the land for 19.6 million kroner due to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
* **February 2022:** The land is purchased by a group of North Jutland business owners for 3.9 million kroner.
* **2021:** The land is put up for sale for 10.9 million kroner.
* **2020:** Expal closes the factory. 65 employees are laid off.
* **2008:** The factory is sold to the Spanish ammunition manufacturer Expal.
* **1968:** Production of ammunition for the Danish defence is consolidated at Krudten in Elling.

Are these just regular small arms and artillery munitions? Because while great, we actually need PGMs more. Those are a lot harder to build and a lot more strategically valuable.
