Everything Britain does they’re raging about. I just switch off now.

Not sure SF is gonna see broad support for this stance. Kinda kills a couple of birds with one stone

I don’t think she knows how economics works. 1.6billion into the economy is a good thing, 200 people employed is also a good thing. I’d imagine she’d be more annoyed if somewhere in England got the contract. I’d imagine if they didn’t support Ukraine she’d be annoyed. It’s anything to say ‘no you’re wrong’.

What an odd response from her.
I’m weirdly surprised. Surely saying nothing would have been better.

What is with fools on this island bitching about investing in defence instead of public services? Defence is a public service. The circumstances have changed. World tensions are extremely high and we need to be prepared. A world war will make all of our systemic public service issues seem very small and insignificant.

Said it before, will say it again. When it comes to defence and not making even a nominal contribution to defending your own patch under the guise of neutrality (whilst a foreign power polices your airspace), Sinn Féin and Irish government representatives need to sit down and be quiet. MDH’s moralising in recent comments went down like a lead balloon where I’m from. It’s a great way of pissing away political goodwill for no reason whatsoever.

Public services DO need more funding in the North.
So I get the frustration at least.

A Sinn Fein leader criticising support for a country being invaded by its bigger, stronger, imperialist neighbour.
Great way to flush 10 years of increased support down the drain.

This sort of dim-witted student-union-esque nonsense is something that SF are unfortunately prone to blurting out on these sort of issues.
They have demonstrated before that their stance on Ukraine is absolute nonsense, I am surprised that they are still doubling down on it.

Does she expect Ukraine to rob a bank to pay for them?

Jesus, read the room. Everyone else on the island has given it a big thumbs up. I now know what Mary Lou will be saying when we get those jets.

Sinn Féin opposing the use of adequate force to defend a nation from an imperialist neighbour?
A time traveller from even 10 years ago wouldn’t believe it

Sinn Feinn are just contrarians on the war in Ukraine. How you can have such strong support for Palestine and being almost indifferent to Ulraine is morally inconsistent.
