Ah, lads. It’s Christmas. Those Fortnum & Mason hampers don’t come cheap.

    2. >Those in band 11 — Holly Cairns, along with Danny and Michael Healy-Rae — claimed €4,478.75.

Open to correction here, but isn’t Holly Cairns still on Maternity leave? Why is she claiming a travel allowance, when not traveling to the Dail?

Youd have to wonder how much of thw money was wasted on Christmas printing that was never collected

It’s an annual allowance, paid monthly, based on meeting a minimum attendance over the year and where your home base is. Of course it would he paid in December, just the same as any other month.

Politicians being corrupt. Madness. It’s terrible this is something 90% of people expect to happen and maybe that’s why they all do it. Scumbags. But remember, welfare cheats cheat us all.

Example: Deputy Ahern, Ciarán Dublin PSA 1 – 31 December 20/12/2024 €2,445.83. A bloke who lives in Dublin managed to accrue 2 and a half grand in travel and accommodation while making his way to work and back.

Make a sentence describing these expense claims using these 3 words – pigs, noses, trough.

Apologies and no disrespect to genuine pigs, who don’t know any better.

The first thing all new TDs do when elected is take a course on how to claim their full entitlement of expenses and allowances. And of course lesson 1. is never attend the course in your own province when you can attend elsewhere and claim travel and accommodation costs for it !.

    9. Just because the actual Dail only sat one day, doesn’t mean people weren’t going in to Leinster House/Dublin and setting up offices, meeting their teams, meeting departments etc. The PRA also includes office rental and office equipment. Costs for renting offices don’t stop because the Dail isn’t sitting.

      Nonsense click-bait article.

Unvouched? How on earth can it be unvouched?
Even in the smallest companies, you would have to show receipts to claim expenses..
The TDs in Ireland take the absolute piss

Here I am as a contractor being worried if the work laptop I bought with enough RAM in it might be caught by Revenue because it has “Gamer Edition” in the model name, and these fuckers are spending 4k per month traveling from Dublin to Dublin.

      What the fuck
