Vance said he didn’t mention by names, so it’s dishonest.

Vance is the biggest threat to democracy.

People can’t insult you if you don’t care about their opinion. I know we have to work with them, but I wouldn’t ask for an apology. I would just pragmatically proceed, looking for the best solution.

    3. What wars have the US fought in that the UK haven’t? This doesn’t even make sense.

The offensive part isn’t even about the current state of their troops but forgetting that Brits have literally died fighting stupid American wars in the past 30 or 40 years.

      PRÉCIS:
#US Vice-President Sparks Diplomatic Row with Remarks on British and French Troops

JD Vance, the US vice-president, has drawn sharp criticism from British politicians after making dismissive remarks about European troops that could be deployed in Ukraine. Speaking on US policy in the region, Vance argued that economic involvement would provide better security than sending forces from nations that, in his words, “haven’t fought a war in 30 or 40 years.” While he later clarified that he had not singled out Britain or France, the two nations are the only ones to have publicly stated they are open to sending troops.

His comments provoked a swift reaction in the UK, with opposition politicians condemning them as disrespectful. Conservative shadow defence secretary James Cartlidge pointed to Britain’s role in Afghanistan, while Reform UK leader Nigel Farage dismissed Vance’s claim as inaccurate. Liberal Democrat defence spokesperson Helen Maguire accused him of disregarding British sacrifices in Iraq and Afghanistan. Conservative MP Ben Obese-Jecty went further, calling for an apology.

Downing Street declined to say whether Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer found the remarks offensive but reaffirmed the government’s deep respect for British forces. The controversy comes at a tense moment in US-Ukraine relations, with military aid currently stalled due to a dispute between President Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. Vance defended his position, arguing that American investment in Ukraine’s mineral sector would do more to enhance security than foreign troops on the ground.

Starmer has stressed the importance of US military support, particularly air cover, in deterring Russia, but Trump has so far refused to commit to such a role. With the war in Ukraine dragging on and transatlantic tensions mounting, Vance’s remarks have only added to the uncertainty.

You should never ask for an apology from a half-man. It’s embarrassing.

My solemn hope is that we Europeans find solidarity when faced with these blatant political attacks. Let’s make it fuel that brings us together. Something that forges us strong enough to protect and maintain the ideals of liberal democracy. It’s our continent that brewed and birthed these ideas. We’ve built strong institutions on the back of them. They are worth protecting and worth fighting for. I would love to see us do it together.

    11. No apology for this American fascist moron. He is an enemy like his friend Putin.

“Starmer has said US security support, like air cover, is essential to deter Russia, but Trump has not committed to this. **Instead, he believes American workers in Ukraine’s mineral sector could provide security.**”

Fuck it. Take him up on that and put a stipulation in the deal that says Ukraine will cancel the deal if Russia breaks the ceasefire or infringes on Ukrainian lands in any way..?

There you go brothers in arms. The US government completely slaps you in the face for your service. We lost our brother in Afghanistan, he didn’t die but his soul never fully returned. He never fully healed and to this day he’s not even half the man he used to be. Struggling with alcoholism, depression and frustration at life. He always wanted to be a solider, never really understood what it meant to go to war and unable to deal with returning to civilian life. All because American neocolonialism and Britain’s unwavering support to commit to American ideals. Nobody wanted these stupid wars and to be dismissed as if these men didn’t exist is the ultimate slap in the face. I hate this man and I hate the company he keeps. I’m appalled. Fuck you.
